The Crew is a comedy series that premiered on Netflix in 2021. Created by Jeff Lowell, the show stars Kevin James, Jillian Mueller, and Freddie Stroma. The show is set in the world of NASCAR and follows the story of a racing crew who are struggling to keep up with the changes that are happening in their sport. The show revolves around the team owner Bobby Spencer, played by Kevin James. Bobby is an old-school guy who is passionate about racing and has been in the business for a long time. He has owned the team for many years and is very attached to his crew. However, when a new boss named Catherine arrives, Bobby's world is turned upside down. Catherine is a young and ambitious woman who is determined to modernize the team and make it more profitable. Jillian Mueller plays the role of Beth, the team's engineer. She is a smart and capable woman who is very good at her job. However, she has a hard time getting the other guys to take her seriously because she is a woman. Beth is also in a complicated relationship with one of the racers on the team, Jake, played by Freddie Stroma. Jake is a young and talented driver who is trying to make a name for himself in the racing world. He is also dating Beth, which causes some tension within the team. Jake is a bit of a wild card and sometimes his antics get him into trouble, which puts the team's success in jeopardy. The rest of the crew consists of Chuck, played by Gary Anthony Williams, who is the crew chief and is responsible for making sure the cars are running smoothly. Amir, played by Dan Ahdoot, is the team's social media manager and is responsible for promoting the team on social media. Finally, there is Kevin, played by Bruce McGill, who is the team's veteran mechanic and has been with the team for many years. Each episode of The Crew follows the team as they deal with various challenges both on and off the track. They must learn to work together as a team and adapt to the changes that are happening in the sport if they want to succeed. At the same time, they must deal with their own personal struggles and relationships, which often spill over into their work. The show is a good mix of humor and drama and has a lot of heart. Kevin James is excellent in his role as the team owner and brings a lot of humor and warmth to the show. Jillian Mueller and Freddie Stroma also turn in great performances and have good chemistry on screen. The rest of the cast is also strong and each character brings something unique to the show. Overall, The Crew is a fun and entertaining show that is sure to appeal to racing fans and anyone who enjoys a good comedy. It's a great addition to Netflix's lineup and is definitely worth checking out.
