Legend of the Seeker is a fantasy adventure television series that premiered on November 1, 2008. The show is based on Terry Goodkind's series of fantasy novels called The Sword of Truth, which follows the journey of Richard Cypher, a young woodsman who discovers that he is the true heir to the throne of D'Hara and the only one who can defeat the evil Darken Rahl and save the Three Lands from his tyrannical rule. Craig Horner stars as Richard Cypher, a simple woodsman who discovers that he has been chosen by fate to become the Seeker, a legendary hero with the ability to wield powerful magic like no other. Bridget Regan plays Kahlan Amnell, a Confessor from the Midlands who is sent on a quest to find the Seeker and help him defeat the evil that threatens to destroy the land. Bruce Spence portrays Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander, a wise and powerful wizard who becomes Richard's mentor and friend on his journey. Craig Parker plays Darken Rahl, the evil tyrant who seeks to conquer the world and enslave its people, and Tabrett Bethell plays Cara Mason, a former Mord-Sith warrior who becomes Richard's ally and friend.
