Humans is a sci-fi drama series produced by AMC that explores the relationship between human beings and artificial intelligence. The show is set in a parallel present where robots known as "Synths" have been developed to perform everyday domestic chores and services. The story follows the Hawkins family, who purchase a Synth named Anita to help with their household duties. However, as time goes on, they begin to discover that Anita is not like other Synths. She exhibits emotions and thoughts of her own, leading the Hawkins family down a path of discovery and intrigue. George Millican, played by William Hurt, is a retired scientist who owns an outdated and malfunctioning Synth named Odi. George becomes attached to the old machine and refuses to replace him with a newer model, leading him to seek illegal upgrades for Odi. Colin Morgan plays Leo, a mysterious young man who is searching for his past and the truth behind his origins. Along the way, he meets a gang of renegade Synths who are also searching for their place in the world.
