Hit The Floor is a dramatic television series that first premiered on VH1 in 2013. Spanning across three seasons, the show centers around a fictional professional basketball team called the Los Angeles Devils and the lives of the dancers, or "Devil Girls," who perform at their games. Throughout the series, the audience follows Ahsha Hayes (portrayed by Taylour Paige), a young and ambitious dancer who dreams of becoming a member of the Devil Girls. Her parents, Sloane (Kimberly Elise) and Pete Davenport (Dean Cain), were once a star player and a head coach for the team respectively. However, their marriage was ruined by infidelity and secrets, leaving Ahsha torn between her love for dance and her trust in her parents. Despite the rocky history of her family and the team, Ahsha eventually becomes a Devil Girl and forms close relationships with several of her fellow dancers. Her closest friends include the sassy and fiery Jelena Howard (Logan Browning), who works as the Devil Girls captain, and her roommate Kyle Hart (Katherine Bailess), a former stripper who always speaks her mind. The show also explores the behind-the-scenes politics of the basketball world, with team owner Oscar Kincade (Don Stark) constantly plotting to maintain the team's success no matter the cost. He often clashes with Sloane, who returns to work for the team as the Director of the Devil Girls and uses her position to keep a watchful eye on her daughter. Meanwhile, Pete tries to navigate the pressures of coaching a high-stakes team while also dealing with personal demons and a tumultuous relationship with Sloane. Other key characters in the series include Lionel Davenport (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe), a journalist and Pete's ex-wife who is determined to uncover the truth behind the events that led to their divorce, and German Vega (Jonathan 'Lil J' McDaniel), Ahsha's boyfriend and a new player for the team who harbors a shocking secret. With a mix of scandal, romance, and intense dance scenes, Hit The Floor became a popular show among fans of drama and sports alike. Each season was filled with unexpected twists and cliffhangers, keeping audiences hooked until the very end. Though the show ended its run in 2018, its memorable characters and thrilling plotlines continue to be celebrated by fans.
