His ex-wife Alexis, played by Joan Collins, is a conniving woman who will stop at nothing to gain control of the family and their business empire. The show focuses on the relationships and rivalries within the Carrington family, and their interactions with other wealthy families in Denver. Blake's new wife Krystle, played by Linda Evans, is the moral center of the show, often caught between the scheming Alexis and the ruthless Blake. The Carringtons are not without their own dramas, however, as their children struggle with drug addiction, adultery, and other personal issues. Despite its sometimes negative reception from critics, Dynasty was a ratings success and remains a cult classic to this day. The show spawned a spin-off, The Colbys, which aired from 1985 to 1987, and has been rebooted in recent years.
