Dragonaut - The Resonance is a science-fiction anime series that follows the story of a group of people who discover the existence of dragons in space. The show originally aired on TV Tokyo from 2007 to 2008 for a total of 25 episodes. The story takes place in an alternate present where humanity has reached space exploration and has established colonies on the moon. However, an unexpected disaster occurs during a space mission, causing a massive meteorite to collide with the Earth. This results in the extinction of most of the life on the planet, and the only survivors are those who have managed to escape to the moon and other space colonies. Ten years after the disaster, the series follows Jin Kamishina, a young man who is the sole survivor of a shuttle accident that occurred during his youth. He discovers a dragon during one of his missions to space and names it Toa. Jin learns that Toa is not the only dragon in space and that they are at the center of a power struggle between various factions. The dragons in the show are not ordinary dragons but are genetically engineered creatures that have the ability to bond with human pilots, known as Dragonauts. Through the bond, the human pilots can control and synchronize with their dragons to enhance their abilities. As Jin becomes a Dragonaut, he is drawn into the conflict between two groups: the ISDA, a military organization that seeks to control the dragons and use them for their benefit, and the Thanatos, a group of rebels who want to destroy the dragons and bring an end to the conflict. Jin soon discovers that there is more to the dragons than he initially thought, and their true purpose is shrouded in mystery. As he delves deeper into the world of the dragons, he begins to uncover dark secrets and conspiracies that threaten the survival of the human race. The show features a diverse cast of characters, each with their unique personalities and motivations. Daisuke Ono voices Jin Kamishina, the protagonist of the series, who is driven by his desire to protect Toa and uncover the mysteries behind the dragons. Minori Chihara voices Toa, Jin's dragon, who has a gentle and caring personality and is fiercely loyal to her pilot. Junichi Suwabe voices Kazuki Tachibana, another Dragonaut who is part of the ISDA. He is initially hostile towards Jin but eventually becomes one of his allies. Aya Hirano voices Sieglinde Baumgard, a Dragonaut from Germany who is also part of the ISDA. She is a skilled fighter and has a serious personality. Other notable voice actors in Dragonaut - The Resonance include Eiji Maruyama, Eiji Miyashita, Mamoru Miyano, Miyuki Sawashiro, Saeko Chiba, Tetsuya Kakihara, Tomokazu Sugita, Eri Sendai, Chise Nakamura, Nana Mizuki, Takuma Takewaka, Cho, and Hozumi Goda. The animation in Dragonaut - The Resonance is impressive, featuring detailed character designs and fluid movement. The space battles between the dragons and their pilots are particularly well done, with intense action sequences and dramatic music. Overall, Dragonaut - The Resonance is an entertaining science-fiction series that combines a compelling plot, interesting characters, and stunning animation. It is worth checking out for fans of the genre.
