American Soul is an American biographical drama television series that premiered on BET on February 5, 2019. The series is set in the 1970s and follows the rise of Don Cornelius and his iconic music and dance show, Soul Train. The show is created by Jonathan Prince and Devon Greggory. The main character of the show is Don Cornelius, played by Sinqua Walls. Cornelius is a struggling TV host in Chicago who is passionate about music and dance.
