Aim High is an action-comedy web series produced by Warner Bros. The show stars Jackson Rathbone as Nick Green, a high school student who balances his duties as a spy with his schoolwork and social life. Aimee Teegarden plays his love interest, Amanda Miles, and Chris Wylde plays Nick's mentor and handler, Mr. Smith. The show follows Nick as he navigates the challenges of being a high school student while simultaneously working as a government agent. Nick is recruited by Mr. Smith to be a spy because of his exceptional skills, which include karate, parkour, and sniper training. The premise of the show is that Nick balances his school life with his duties as a spy, often having to leave school abruptly to deal with a mission. In addition to the spy missions, Nick also has to contend with his crush on Amanda, who is oblivious to his secret life as a spy. This creates some comedic moments as Nick tries to keep his double life a secret from her, while also trying to impress her. Aim High is notable for its high production values and action sequences. The show's creators clearly invested a lot of time and effort into making the action scenes as realistic as possible. The fight scenes, in particular, are well choreographed and look like they were taken straight out of a Hollywood movie. Another aspect of the show that stands out is its use of humor. The show's writers manage to balance the action and drama with comedic moments that help to lighten the mood. Nick's interactions with his quirky best friend Marcus (played by Johnny Pemberton) provide some of the show's funniest moments. One of the strengths of Aim High is its cast. Jackson Rathbone is a charismatic lead and brings a lot of charm to the role of Nick. Aimee Teegarden is also great as Amanda, and her chemistry with Rathbone is one of the show's highlights. Chris Wylde is well cast as Mr. Smith, and his deadpan delivery is perfect for the character. Overall, Aim High is an entertaining show that will appeal to fans of action, comedy and teen drama. It's a great example of how web series can match the production values of traditional television shows, while also taking risks with unconventional storytelling. While the show only ran for two seasons, it's worth checking out for fans of the genre.
