Mechanic: Resurrection is a 2016 action-thriller movie starring Jason Statham, Jessica Alba, and Tommy Lee Jones. Directed by Dennis Gansel and written by Philip Shelby and Tony Mosher, the movie is a sequel to the 2011 movie, The Mechanic. The film follows the story of Arthur Bishop (Jason Statham), a world-renowned assassin who is forced out of retirement when an old enemy kidnaps his girlfriend and forces him to complete three impossible assassinations. The catch? Each assassination has to look like an accident. The movie opens with Arthur living a quiet life on a secluded island somewhere in the Caribbean Sea. He spends his days fishing, drinking beer, and listening to jazz music. However, his peaceful life is disrupted when he receives a visit from a woman named Gina (Jessica Alba). Gina is an aid worker who is trying to help people in war-torn regions of the world. She asks for Arthur's help in getting her to safety, but before they can escape, she is kidnapped by a group of mercenaries. Arthur soon discovers that the leader of the mercenaries is a former associate of his, Crain (Sam Hazeldine). Crain knows that Arthur is the only person who can complete three seemingly impossible assassinations, and he wants Arthur to do it for him. Arthur initially refuses, but when he realizes that his girlfriend, Gina, is being held captive, he has no choice but to comply. Arthur's first target is a notorious arms dealer named Max Adams (Tommy Lee Jones). Max is living on a luxury yacht anchored in the middle of the ocean. Arthur manages to infiltrate Max's inner circle and gets hired as his personal bodyguard. He soon discovers that Max has a daughter who is being held captive by a ruthless criminal organization. Arthur uses this information to his advantage and manages to kill Max in a way that appears to be an accident. Arthur's second target is a corrupt businessman named Riah Crain (Rhatha Phongam). Riah is on a private island in Thailand, but Arthur manages to track him down and infiltrate his compound. He discovers that Riah is involved in human trafficking and decides to put an end to his operation. He stages a fake pirate attack, and during the chaos, he kills Riah in a way that appears to be an accident. Finally, Arthur's third target is a warlord named Krill (Femi Elufowoju Jr.). Krill is in a heavily guarded prison in Malaysia, but Arthur manages to break him out and convinces him to fake his own death. Krill agrees, and Arthur manages to kill him in a way that looks like a heart attack. Throughout the movie, Arthur has to use all of his skills as an assassin to outsmart his enemies and complete his missions. He faces a number of challenges, including thwarted plans, betrayal, and unexpected obstacles. To add even more to the mix, he constantly experiences strong inner turmoil, grappling with the morality of his actions as he begins to develop genuine feelings for Gina. In conclusion, Mechanic: Resurrection is a gritty and intense action-thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Jason Statham delivers a fantastic performance as the stoic and ruthless Arthur Bishop, and the supporting cast, including Jessica Alba and Tommy Lee Jones, deliver standout performances as well. While the movie may not have the most realistic plot, it more than makes up for it with its exceptional action scenes and tight pace. If you're a fan of action movies and looking for some fast-paced escapism, you can't go wrong with Mechanic: Resurrection.
