As the sequel to the hugely successful 2009 comedy hit, The Hangover: Part II follows the hilarious exploits of Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms) and Alan (Zach Galifianakis) as they head to Thailand for Stu's wedding. The Wolfpack is back and ready for another round of misadventures that will have you laughing until your sides hurt. The film takes place two years after the events of the first movie, and the guys are all back together for the wedding of Stu and his fiancé, Lauren. This time around, they decide to have the bachelor party in Thailand and things quickly start to go off the rails. After a wild night on the town, the guys wake up the next morning in a seedy Bangkok hotel with no memory of the previous night's events and, of course, Doug (Justin Bartha) is missing once again. As they piece together what happened the night before, they quickly realize they are in for another wild ride. Along the way, they encounter a host of colorful characters, including a drug dealing monkey, a tough as nails tattoo artist and Mr. Chow (Ken Jeong) who makes a welcomed return to the series. They also find themselves in some pretty sticky situations, including getting chased by a group of angry locals and having to participate in a dangerous underground boxing match. As the guys try to retrace their steps from the previous night, they discover that they made some terrible decisions and find themselves in some pretty compromising positions. There are plenty of outrageous moments that will have you shaking your head with both disbelief and laughter. The chemistry between the three leads has never been better. Bradley Cooper once again delivers a charismatic performance as the smooth-talking Phil, while Ed Helms' neurotic Stu provides the perfect foil. But it's Zach Galifianakis who steals the show as the dim-witted and often inappropriate Alan. His deadpan delivery and bizarre behavior provide some of the movie's biggest laughs. Director Todd Phillips knows just how to let these actors shine and he does an excellent job of creating a fast-paced, funny and exciting movie. The Hangover: Part II is a worthy follow-up to the first film and is sure to please fans of the series. It may not be as original as the original, but it's still a raunchy, entertaining ride. One thing that sets this movie apart from the first is the setting. Thailand provides a colorful and exotic backdrop for the insanity that unfolds. The movie is shot beautifully, with stunning scenery and eye-popping visuals that are a feast for the eyes. Overall, if you're looking for a raunchy, hilarious adventure, The Hangover: Part II is definitely worth checking out. The Wolfpack is back and they are just as wild and funny as ever. This movie won't win any awards for its originality, but it delivers on its promise of being a laugh-out-loud comedy. Just be prepared to cringe at some of Allen's more inappropriate antics.
