In the 1996 film Striptease, Demi Moore plays Erin Grant, a single mother who works as a stripper at the Eager Beaver, a nightclub in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Erin lost custody of her daughter, Angela, to her ex-husband, Darrell, who is a criminal and an adulterer. In order to pay the legal fees for her custody battle, Erin needs to make more money. One night, Congressman David Dilbeck, played by Burt Reynolds, visits the Eager Beaver and becomes infatuated with Erin. He drops a large amount of money on her and requests a private dance. Erin initially refuses but ultimately agrees when Dilbeck offers her more money. When Dilbeck tries to grab Erin during the dance, she knees him in the groin and runs away. Dilbeck is up for reelection and is fearful that the recent incident at the Eager Beaver will be exposed to the public. He sends his henchmen to threaten Erin and her daughter, prompting Erin to seek legal representation. Enter lawyer Al Garcia, played by Armand Assante, who takes on Erin's case and begins to unravel the corruption surrounding Dilbeck and his ties to a local businessman. Meanwhile, Erin continues to dance at the Eager Beaver, where she is harassed by a fellow dancer and constantly worried about the safety of her daughter. As the legal drama unfolds, Erin becomes increasingly entangled in the dangerous world of politics and corruption. In a thrilling conclusion, Erin's bravery and determination are put to the test as she fights to expose the truth and regain custody of her daughter.
